In short: your resume data is yours. We store it only to render your resumes, we never sell or share it for advertising, generated files are auto-deleted after a retention window, and you can permanently delete everything yourself at any time.

1. What we collect

  • Account basics from your appcafe.in sign-in (name, email, account identifier). This app never sees or stores your password — authentication happens at auth.appcafe.in.
  • Resume content you enter or import: work history, education, skills, contact details, optional photo, and any other sections you fill in. This is personal data and is treated as such under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
  • Basic usage counters (e.g. how many resumes you've generated) used only to operate the service.

2. What we do with it

  • Render your resume previews and exports (PDF/Word). That is the only purpose of your resume content.
  • We do not sell your data, share it with recruiters or advertisers, or use it to train AI models. Resume import uses deterministic text parsing on our own servers.
  • Uploaded files (resume imports) are processed in memory for parsing and are not kept after the import review step.

3. Retention & deletion

  • Generated files (PDF/Word) are kept for re-download for a rolling window (currently 30 days), then purged automatically by a scheduled job.
  • Profile data is kept until you delete it. Deleting a profile permanently removes its data, its photo, and its generated files. This is your right to erasure — no support ticket needed.
  • Database backups are taken for disaster recovery and cycle out on a fixed schedule.

4. Payments

The service is currently free — we do not process payments and hold no payment information.

5. Cookies

  • A session cookie to keep you signed in.
  • An acTheme cookie remembering your light/dark preference across AppCafe apps.
  • No third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Security

Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), sign-in uses the OpenID Connect standard, and profile photos and generated files are stored outside the public web root and served only to their owner. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password on your appcafe.in account.

7. Third-party content in your resumes

If you add other people's details (e.g. references), you are responsible for having their consent to share that information with the employers you send your resume to.

8. Children

This service is intended for users aged 18 and above.

9. Other AppCafe apps

Your appcafe.in account is shared across AppCafe apps (Finance, School, Appointments, Tools), but each app keeps its own data in its own isolated database — Resume data is never mixed into other apps.
